3M Indianapolis, Indiana is seeking a General Operator to contribute to our manufacturing operations. You will work in a fast-paced plant environment, utilizing PLC & MMI interfaces and various measuring tools to ensure product quality.

Starting rate is $22.77 per hour with shift differentials; new hires receive three weeks of paid vacation, comprehensive health/dental/vision coverage from day one, stock discounts, and a 5% 401(k) match.

Job Description

The person hired for the position General Operator of will work at our 3M Indianapolis, Indiana plant site.

As an General Operator you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative people around the world.

Your Skills and Expertise

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

• Recognizes numerous process and product defects, diagnoses and performs process trouble shooting, makes a variety of process adjustments including temperature, line speed, air flow rate, positioning, centering, gap, etc.
• Must comprehend and utilize PLC & MMI computer-controlled interface with equipment.
• Uses test and measuring equipment in the manufacturing of finished goods.
• Uses pneumatic presses and punch out equipment.

Required: (Basic Qualifications)

• Possess a High School Diploma / GED or higher (completed prior to start)
• Work Rotating Shifts, Overtime, Extended Hours, Weekends, Holidays as needed, and short notice shift coverage.
• Minimum two (2) months of operating production machinery.

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

• Minimum six (6) months of previous experience in a manufacturing environment.

Applicants who meet the basic qualifications above will be required to take and pass 3M elected testing as a part of the selection process.
