Job summary

Target is seeking a General Merchandise Team Leader in the United States. The role focuses on delivering a superior guest experience while leading a team through daily tasks such as stocking, merchandising, pricing, and sign-making.

You will train and coach hourly team members, ensure product availability, and drive sales with leadership guidance. Applicants should demonstrate strong communication, teamwork, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced store environment.

Qualifications

• Guest service fundamentals and experience building a guest-first culture on your team.
• Retail business fundamentals, including department sales trends, inventory management, guest shopping patterns, pricing and promotions strategies.
• Leading a team by planning workload to support priorities and drive sales goals, with coaching and development.
• Coaching and training hourly team members to build a skilled team with guidance from leadership.
• Strong communication skills with guests and team members.

Responsibilities

• Deliver guest experience commitments consistently to create an Easy, Inspiring and Friendly guest experience.
• Ensure all team members are trained and deliver Target’s guest experience commitments.
• Observe and provide feedback, holding team members accountable while recognizing great guest moments.
• Review metrics to identify opportunities and drive results that improve guest experience.
• Lead daily/weekly workload execution to meet department and store sales goals and guest engagement.
• Educate team on how procedures affect inventory, store profitability and product availability.
• Identify gaps in processes and help develop improvement plans.
• Be an expert in operations, accuracy and efficiency.
• Assign daily tasks based on workload and traffic patterns.
• Help establish goals and hold team members accountable.
• Assist with fulfillment processes when applicable and monitor reporting for gaps.
• Ensure products are in stock, accurately priced, and signed on the sales floor.
