Job summary

Target is seeking a General Merchandise Team Leader in Palm Desert, CA to drive guest experience and store performance. You will lead hourly team members, prioritize tasks, and ensure product availability and accuracy on the sales floor and backroom.

This role focuses on coaching, inventory control, and day-to-day leadership under store leadership. The position emphasizes operational excellence, guest-first culture, and adapting to a fast-paced retail environment.

Qualifications

• Guest service fundamentals and guest-first culture.
• Ability to manage daily/weekly workload to meet sales goals.
• Experience leading a team of hourly associates.
• Coach and develop hourly team members.
• Ability to hire and interview candidates.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily and weekly workload to meet department goals.
• Ensure product is in stock, priced, signed, and guest ready.
• Train team on operational procedures and store standards.
• Assist with pick, pack, and ship fulfillment if applicable.
• Maintain a safe, compliant workplace and follow safety procedures.
