About the Role

Lunar Resources is looking for a hands‑on General Mechanical Technician to join our Houston production team. In this role you'll keep our lab and production equipment running — assembling, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing the mechanical systems that support our manufacturing operations. You'll work closely with engineers, operators, and fellow technicians in a fast-moving hardware environment where no two days look the same.

What You'll Do
  • Assemble, install, align, and fit mechanical components, fixtures, and subassemblies from drawings, sketches, and verbal instruction
  • Perform preventive maintenance, inspection, and repair on production and facility equipment (pumps, motors, compressors, vacuum systems, furnaces, and related hardware)
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues and drive them to root cause
  • Fabricate and modify parts and fixtures using hand tools, power tools, and basic shop equipment
  • Read and interpret mechanical drawings, schematics, and equipment manuals
  • Support engineering with equipment builds, test setups, and process improvements
  • Maintain accurate maintenance logs and follow all safety procedures (LOTO, PPE, hazard communication)
  • Keep work areas, tools, and equipment clean, organized, and audit-ready
What We\'re Looking For
  • 3+ years of hands‑on experience as a mechanical technician, maintenance technician, millwright, or similar role
  • Strong mechanical aptitude: comfortable with hand/power tools, precision measurement (calipers, micrometers), and rigging/lifting basics
  • Ability to read mechanical drawings and P&IDs
  • Working knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics, and rotating equipment
  • Comfortable working in a lab/production environment around high‑temperature and vacuum equipment
  • Able to lift 50 lbs. and stand for extended periods, and work on ladders/lifts as needed
  • High school diploma or GED required; technical/trade certification a plus
Nice to Have
  • Experience in aerospace, semiconductor, chemical processing, or other high‑spec manufacturing
  • Basic welding, machining, or fabrication skills (TIG a plus)
  • Experience with vacuum furnaces, gas delivery systems, or cleanroom protocols
  • Basic electrical troubleshooting knowledge (multimeter-level)
  • Forklift, crane, or scissor-lift certification
Details
  • Location: Houston, TX — fully on-site
  • Employment type: Full-time, hourly
