Job summary

GE Aerospace in Vandalia, OH is seeking a maintenance technician to sustain a robust preventive maintenance program for production equipment. You will inspect equipment, diagnose malfunctions, and perform repairs or adjustments to keep lines running efficiently.

Responsibilities include preventive maintenance with Maximo, equipment repairs, breakdown analysis, and coordination with outside contractors while adhering to GMP, safety and audit standards. Weekend/holiday work may be required.

Qualifications

  • 3+ Years Industrial Mechanical/Electrical Maintenance Experience including troubleshooting mechanical/electrical systems
  • Ability to work with equipment up to 480V 3-phase and 24V control systems
  • Must be at least 18 years of age at joining

Job description

Role Overview

We’re looking for a candidate with electrical/mechanical aptitude to help sustain a robust preventive maintenance program. This position is responsible for repairing and installing production/manufacturing equipment, inspecting equipment for proper functioning, performing preventative maintenance duties per the manufacturer’s specifications, diagnosing equipment malfunctions, and making repairs or adjustments as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Repair all production equipment as needed
  • Perform breakdown analysis
  • Perform general housekeeping
  • Upgrade production lines with new equipment/technology
  • Work with outside contractors on assigned line
  • Comply with GMP, safety, and audit standards
  • Work independently under limited supervision (self-management)
  • Document work schedule and tasks completed

Required Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 3+ Years Industrial Mechanical/ Electrical Maintenance Experience, including troubleshooting mechanical breakdowns, mechanical systems (gear boxes, chains, sprockets, motors, seals, bearings), drive components, belts, chains, clutches & brakes, pumps (troubleshooting, replacing seals/motors, understanding specs), and electricity & electrical systems from - 480v 3 phase - 24v control.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age by the time of joining.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Must adhere to all ISO Quality Standards
  • Knowledge of safety procedures, PPE, Lockout/Tagout, etc.
  • Professional technical training or certificate program in industrial maintenance, mechanics, or related field.
  • Pneumatics/air compression (solenoids, valves, cylinders, motor brakes, reading, troubleshooting).
  • Preventative maintenance (computerized preventative charts/data).
  • Schematics (electrical blueprints with switches, starters, maps, relays).
  • Product manuals (reading and applying knowledge to make repairs).
  • Reading mechanical drawings (mechanical, electrical, hydraulics & pneumatics).
  • Electrical systems (starters, fuses, contacts, relays).
  • HVAC systems.
  • Material fabrication and welding skills.
  • Basic rigging knowledge.
  • Knowledge of SERVO (intelligent/robotic motors, in-coders, etc.).
  • Forklift and manlift experience.
Physical and Work Conditions

Pay starts at $25.53 per hour. This position requires work near heat, noise, gas, and chemicals. It requires frequent lifting, climbing, standing, walking, crouching, squatting, bending, and kneeling. The position may require weekend and/or holiday work.
