Job summary

Summa Health at Barberton Campus seeks a skilled Maintenance Technician for a full-time, 40-hour, 2nd-shift role. You will analyze tenant service requests and perform preventive maintenance across electrical, mechanical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, vinyl and HVAC systems.

Strong communication with healthcare staff and ability to read blueprints are required. Minimum qualifications include two years of trade school or equivalent and two years of general maintenance experience; EPA

Qualifications

• Two (2) years of trade school or equivalent.
• High school level courses in grammar, composition and mathematics.
• Two (2) years general maintenance experience in a large institution, commercial facility or service company.
• EPA refrigeration certification preferred; if not, must obtain within 6–12 months.
• Ability to plan, prioritize workload and resolve problems.
• Ability to communicate with healthcare professionals, engineers, contractors and staff.
• Ability to analyze data, diagnose and troubleshoot complex systems and equipment.
• Ability to work from blueprints and drawings.
• Demonstrate behaviors consistent with customer service policy.
• Interact with patients/customers with dignity and respect.
• Medium physical demands: 20–50 pounds occasionally / 10–25 pounds frequently.

Summary

Analyzes and responds in a self-directed manner to tenant requests for services to a broad variety of electrical, mechanical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, vinyling and heating/cooling functions. Performs preventative maintenance and completes records for the buildings main mechanical systems; air conditioning, plumbing, electrical systems. Performs safety checks; orders supplies and equipment as needed; performs related functions.

Minimum Qualifications

• Formal Education Required:
• Two (2) years trade school

OR

• High school level course in grammar, composition and mathematics
• Experience & Training Required:
• Two (2) years general maintenance experience in a large institution, commercial facility or service company
• Universal EPA refrigeration certification preferred. If not currently certified, required to obtain certification within 6-12 mths of Summa employment.
• Other Skills, Competencies and Qualifications:
• Ability to plan, prioritize workload and effectively resolve problems.

The salary range on this job posting/advertising is base salary exclusive of any bonuses or differentials. Many factors, such as years of relevant experience and geographical location are considered when determining the starting rate of pay.
