Nellis Auction is seeking a General Manager (Warehouse) for our Phoenix, AZ location. This role oversees all warehouse duties, assists with hiring/training, and drives processes to improve quality, productivity, and efficiency of the warehouse and team.

The GM will manage the site's financial performance, justify budgets, resolve high-level obstacles, and align with executive leadership on network initiatives. Strong leadership, Lean/5S, and P&L skills are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Proven track record of managing full P&L and driving financial performance.

Job description

We are seeking a General Manager (Warehouse) for our Phoenix, AZ location. The General Manager is a lead member of the management team who will oversee all warehouse duties, assist with hiring and training of warehouse team members, and manage organizational processes to improve the quality, productivity, and efficiency of the warehouse and team.

Key Responsibilities

• Assume full accountability for the site’s financial performance, translating complex operational data into long-term profitability strategies, managing fixed costs and capital expenditures.
• Provide executive justification to the operation manager regarding budget constraints, helping them understand how labor spend directly impacts the site’s viability.
• Act as primary shield for the leadership team by resolving high-level obstacles such as vendor disputes, major equipment procurement, or corporate-level technical hurdles.
• Serve as final arbiter for challenges requiring higher authority or financial approval.
• Look 6–12 months ahead to identify facility needs, market trends, and growth opportunities, ensuring the site is prepared for volume shifts.
• Align with the COO and national operations leadership on network-wide initiatives.
• Champion an inclusive, high-performance team culture, identifying high-potential leaders and ensuring the One Team Leadership Agreement is upheld.
• Provide mentorship and career coaching for assistant managers and operations managers.
• Ensure facility maintains audit‑ready status, own 5S standards and facility maintenance to protect brand and assets.
• Support daily safety corrections on the floor by providing resources such as signage, floor tape, safety gear.
• Adhere strictly to One Team Leadership Agreement and lead the site's strategic direction while maintaining visibility.
• Actively support the tactical needs of the floor to ensure managers are never starved for information or resources.

Qualifications

• Extensive leadership experience in warehouse, distribution, or high-volume logistics.
• Proven track record of managing full P&L and driving financial performance.
• Strong ability to coach, mentor, and lead a multi-layered (direct and indirect) management team.
• Clear and confident communicator with a proactive, solution-oriented mindset.
• Expertise in process improvement methodologies such as Lean, 5S and SOP development.

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds frequently; stand, walk, bend, reach, twist, and stoop for extended periods (10–12 hour shifts).
• Frequent climbing of ladders and step stools required.
• Manual dexterity to operate setup tools and equipment.
• Must be physically able to work in varying environmental conditions (hot/cold).
