Job summary

Barrett Distribution Centers in Garland, TX seeks a General Manager to oversee overall operation and facility management, drive sales and revenue, and maintain client relationships. Reporting to the Regional VP, you will develop staff, enhance efficiency, and ensure safety and compliance. The role follows a Monday–Friday, 8am–5pm schedule.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Engineering, or related field; Master's preferred.
• 10+ years of supervisory experience in warehouse or distribution center environment.
• Working knowledge of inventory control, cycle counts, and inventory accuracy.
• Proficiency with Microsoft applications; working knowledge of 3PL warehouse operations and Synapse WMS.
• English communication; bilingual Spanish/English preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with ability to work under pressure and manage priorities.

Responsibilities

• Oversee safe, efficient warehouse operation across staffing, maintenance, safety/security/housekeeping/sanitation, budgeting, customer service, and inventory control.
• Leadership & strategy: provide daily oversight and strategic vision; develop plans; report to Regional VP on cost, service, and efficiency.
• Financial & performance management: build and achieve P&L, SLAs, KPI goals; budgets, revenue projections, account analysis.
• Client & quality management: handle client escalations; investigate nonconformances and implement corrective actions.
• Operational efficiency: direct programs for cost-effective operation; optimize space utilization.
• Asset stewardship & relationships: maintain communication with customers and employees; collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Talent development: attract, develop, retain diverse talent; mentor leaders; oversee hiring, onboarding, training.
• Communication: ensure daily goals and updates are communicated to all staff.
• Continuous improvement & culture: champion GGOB; drive improvement through teamwork.
• Compliance & facility upkeep: ensure OSHA/MSDS compliance; maintain cleanliness and security; oversee repairs.
