Job summary

Leonard Truck Outfitters in Orlando, FL, is seeking a General Manager for the Orlando Upfit Center to oversee daily operations, financial performance, and team leadership, ensuring vehicle customization, production, and delivery meet the highest quality and customer satisfaction standards. Reports to the VP of Commercial and mentors up to six direct reports.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Operations Management, Automotive Technology, or related field preferred (or equivalent work experience).
• Minimum of 5 years of operations management or automotive/truck upfitting/fleet services experience required.
• Proven leadership experience managing teams in a production or service environment.
• Experience working with OEM dealers, fleet management companies, or government agencies strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of supply chain, vendor relations, and inventory management.

Responsibilities

• Leads and mentors a team of upfit technicians and staff.
• Establishes a culture of accountability, safety, and high performance.
• Manages staffing, scheduling, training, and evaluations.
• Oversees workflow and shop productivity to meet deadlines.
• Ensures OSHA compliance and safety standards.
• Implements process improvements to reduce downtime and improve efficiency.
• Partners with sales and fleet managers on orders, timelines and specs.
• Oversees the upfit center’s P&L, budgeting and cost controls.
• Tracks KPIs like turnaround time, quality and labor efficiency.
• Identifies growth opportunities via vendor partnerships and process optimization.
