Job summary

Manulife Forest Management seeks a General Manager of Value-Added Services to direct non-timber revenue opportunities across client lands, including carbon, minerals, infrastructure, and renewable energy. The role requires entrepreneurial leadership, strategy, and risk oversight in NA, with remote work options and a leadership team of ~9.

The position reports to the President of MFM and collaborates with PMCS, GRP, and Operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in an environmental field or equivalent experience
• Graduate degree in environmental discipline or business management highly desirable
• Experience with oversight of non-core revenue projects (e.g., wetland mitigation banks)
• Minimum of 10 years in environmental project management
• Minimum of 10 years of organizational management and leadership experience
• Excellent relationship, interpersonal, and communication skills

Responsibilities

• Ensure client fiduciary obligations are maintained
• Ensure safety and environmental stewardship are prioritized
• Develop and maintain strong service-oriented relationships with MFM and MIMT personnel
• Provide leadership of approximately 9 employees
• Develop and execute a recreation strategy for top quartile use rates
• Oversee value-added revenue projects including carbon and other assets
• Oversee asset management, acquisitions, and dispositions
• Lead communications with stakeholders and regulatory bodies
• Ensure compliance with policies and laws
• Collaborate with accounting teams on regional client accounting
