Job summary

TKO EMPLOYMENT SERVICES DELAWARE LLC is seeking a dynamic General Manager for SpringHill Suites Newark Downtown in Newark, DE. You will lead all hotel operations, drive guest satisfaction, and execute strategic plans while managing budgets and ensuring compliance with brand standards.

The role requires strong leadership to inspire a diverse team, expert knowledge of revenue management and a proven track record in hotel management. Nights, weekends and holidays may be required.

Qualifications

• A university degree in hotel management or related field preferred.
• Minimum 3 years of Department Head level experience in a branded upscale/full-service hotel.
• Hotel opening or repositioning experience preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of A La Carte restaurant and/or banquet management experience.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office.
• Knowledge of hotel PMS and POS systems is a plus.
• Must be willing to “pitch-in” and help co-workers and be a team player.
• Must be able to provide outstanding customer service to internal and external guests.
• Must have strong interpersonal skills and be able to work a flexible schedule.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the overall operations of the hotel.
• Ensure compliance with operating controls, SOPs, policies, procedures and brand standards.
• Handling complaints and overseeing the service recovery procedures.
• Prepare and achieve the hotel's annual Operating Budget, Marketing & Sales Plan and Capital Budget.
• Manage ongoing profitability of the hotel, ensuring revenue and guest satisfaction targets are met and exceeded.
• Deliver hotel budget goals and set other short and long-term strategic goals for the property.
• A strong understanding of P&L statements and ability to react with impactful strategies.
• Closely monitor the hotel's business reports and act on them.
• Ensure monthly financial outlooks for Rooms, F&B, Admin & General are on target.
• Maximizing room yield and hotel revenue through innovative sales practices and yield management programs.
• Act as a final decision maker in hiring key team members.
• Overseeing and managing all departments and working closely with department heads.
• Manage and develop the team to ensure career progression and development.
