Job description

The General Manager (GM) oversees all day-to-day operations at your branch to ensure business goals are achieved efficiently and effectively. This includes managing personnel, financial performance, client relations, and overall organizational growth.

Key Roles and Responsibilities
Leadership and Management
  • Provide leadership and direction to department heads and staff.
  • Establish clear performance expectations and ensure accountability at all levels.
  • Foster a positive and productive work culture aligned with company values and goals.
  • Lead by example with professionalism, integrity, and commitment to safety and quality.
Operational Oversight
  • Oversee daily business operations to ensure efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Work with Corporate to implement and maintain policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Monitor project schedules, budgets, and performance metrics (KPI’s)
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Manage annual budgets and financial goals.
  • Review and analyze financial statements to identify areas for improvement.
  • Approve major expenditures and control operational costs.
  • Work closely with accounting to ensure accurate financial reporting and forecasting.
Business Development
  • Work with Chief Revenue Officer to Identify and pursue new business opportunities and strategic partnerships.
  • Maintain and strengthen relationships with clients, vendors, and stakeholders.
  • Oversee contract negotiations and ensure favorable terms for the company.
  • Support marketing and client retention initiatives.
  • Recruit, train, and mentor key personnel to build a strong leadership team.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and address employee concerns promptly.
  • Promote teamwork, communication, and professional development.
  • Enforce company policies and maintain a safe, respectful workplace.
Safety and Compliance
  • Ensure all operations adhere to safety standards and company policies.
  • Support the Safety Director and field leadership in enforcing safety procedures.
  • Promote a safety-first culture across all departments and job sites.
Strategic Planning
  • Work with Corporate to develop and execute long-term business strategies and objectives.
  • Analyze market trends and adapt company strategies accordingly.
  • Set performance benchmarks and track organizational progress (KPI’s)
  • Provide regular updates and reports to corporate as outlined.
Personal Growth
  • Recognize that change is a constant.
  • Always be self-reflecting on areas needed for improvement.
  • Be open to coaching.
  • Continue improving leadership and management skills through mentorship and CEUs.
  • Never allow yourself to get complacent.

Reporting Structure

The General Manager reports directly to the Director Of Operations and oversees all departmental managers, including, Project Management, Construction Managers and Sub-Contractors at your branch.
