• Understanding of venue safety and compliance; surgery experience is explicitly not required.
• Excellent communication, problem‑solving, and organizational abilities.
• Prior experience in theater, entertainment, hospitality, or facility management, ideally in a supervisory role.
• Familiarity with scheduling, ticketing, POS, or venue management systems; proficient with standard office software.
• Degree in business/ management/ arts administration or related field, or equivalent practical experience.

Role Description

This full-time, on-site General Manager – Theaters role is based in the Bay View Neighborhood of Milwaukee, WI, and also requires some time spent at The Rosebud Cinema Drafthouse in Wauwatosa and The Times Cinema in the Washington Heights neighborhood of Milwaukee. The General Manager is responsible for overseeing daily theater operations, including staffing, scheduling, and ensuring a smooth patron experience. This role manages budgets and financial performance, coordinates events and special programming, and works closely with internal and external partners to optimize theater usage. The General Manager monitors facility conditions, maintains compliance with safety and regulatory standards, and implements operational policies and procedures. The position also involves supervising team members, guiding performance, and fostering a collaborative and inclusive work environment.

Qualifications

• Candidates should possess strong Operations Management skills, including team leadership and process improvement.
• Candidates should possess experience in Budgeting and basic financial oversight for venues or similar operations.
• Candidates should possess Event Management and Event Planning skills relevant to theater programming and special performances.
• Candidates should possess an understanding of venue safety and compliance; experience in surgery is not required and is not relevant to this role.
• Candidates should possess excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Candidates should possess prior experience in theater, entertainment, hospitality, or facility management, preferably in a supervisory capacity.
• Candidates should possess proficiency with scheduling, ticketing, POS, or venue management systems; familiarity with standard office software is expected.
