Ghoman Hotels and Resorts LLC is seeking an experienced and results-oriented Hotel General Manager to lead the daily operations of our Residence Inn by Marriott property in Carmel, Indiana. The successful candidate will be responsible for overall hotel performance, financial management, team leadership, guest satisfaction, revenue growth, and compliance with Marriott brand standards.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Marriott hotel operations, excellent leadership skills, and a proven ability to improve profitability while delivering exceptional guest experiences.
Previous Marriott hotel management experience is mandatory for this position.
Oversee all daily hotel operations, ensuring compliance with Marriott brand standards, company policies, and standard operating procedures.
Lead, supervise, and coordinate department heads to ensure efficient hotel operations.
Conduct regular management meetings to review performance, address operational challenges, and establish departmental goals.
Monitor service quality and ensure a consistent, high-quality guest experience across all departments.
Address guest complaints promptly and implement effective service recovery strategies.
Ensure compliance with applicable health, safety, fire, and regulatory requirements.
Develop, manage, and monitor annual operating budgets, capital expenditure budgets, and financial forecasts.
Review profit and loss statements, financial reports, and operating expenses to maintain profitability.
Implement revenue management strategies, including room pricing, inventory management, and yield optimization.
Monitor occupancy, average daily rate (ADR), revenue per available room (RevPAR), and other key performance indicators.
Identify opportunities to increase revenue, control costs, and improve overall financial performance.
Prepare and present monthly financial and operational reports to ownership and corporate leadership.
Recruit, interview, hire, train, and retain qualified hotel employees and department managers.
Establish clear performance expectations and hold department leaders accountable for operational results.
Mentor and develop management teams to strengthen leadership capabilities and employee engagement.
Promote a professional, collaborative, and service-focused work environment.
Monitor staffing levels, scheduling, productivity, and labor costs.
Collaborate with sales and revenue management teams to increase occupancy and maximize hotel revenue.
Support corporate account development, client relationships, and local business partnerships.
Identify opportunities to attract extended-stay guests, corporate travelers, and group business.
Assist in developing and implementing marketing and business development strategies.
Monitor market trends, competitor performance, and customer demand to identify growth opportunities.
Ensure successful completion of Marriott brand inspections, internal reviews, and external audits.
Maintain property standards, cleanliness, maintenance, and operational readiness.
Oversee procurement, vendor relationships, and inventory controls.
Lead initiatives involving property improvements, renovations, and capital projects.
Ensure compliance with company policies, applicable employment laws, and relevant hospitality regulations.
Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Hotel Management, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
Relevant hospitality certifications are an advantage.
15–20 years of progressive experience in the hospitality industry preferred.
5–10 years of experience in a Hotel General Manager or Assistant General Manager role.
Mandatory experience managing a Marriott-branded hotel.
Experience with Residence Inn, SpringHill Suites, Courtyard, Fairfield Inn, or other Marriott properties is preferred.
Demonstrated success in hotel operations, budgeting, revenue management, and guest satisfaction.
Experience managing hotel teams, financial performance, and operational improvement initiatives.
Experience with hotel openings, renovations, or property repositioning is an advantage.
Strong leadership, communication, and team-building skills.
Comprehensive knowledge of Marriott brand standards and hotel operating procedures.
Expertise in revenue management, forecasting, budgeting, and profit and loss analysis.
Strong financial planning and cost-control abilities.
Excellent guest relations and problem-solving skills.
Ability to manage multiple departments and competing priorities.
Proficiency in hotel property management systems and Microsoft Office applications.
