Job summary

Circular Services is seeking a General Manager to lead our Normal, IL recycling facility, overseeing production, maintenance coordination, material flow, staffing, financial performance, and safety culture. You will guide Operations Managers and supervisors in both the Single Stream MRF and Commercial recycling plants for paper, plastic, and fiber materials.

The role requires strong leadership, budget discipline, and a proven track record in safety and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of plant leadership in recycling, waste management, or manufacturing.
• Experience managing budgets and P&L performance.
• Strong leadership, coaching, and communication abilities.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day facility operations to ensure safe, efficient processing of materials.
• Hiring, onboarding, staffing levels, scheduling, payroll coordination, and vacancy coverage.
• Managing budgets, operating expenses, P&L, labor costs, downtime costs, and cost per ton.
• Drive throughput, maximize recovery rates, and maintain high-quality output across fibers, plastics, and metals.
• Collaborates with transportation and logistics to ensure timely material movement.
• Monitor production data and KPIs to identify trends and drive continuous improvement.
