Job summary

Gradel Professional Search is seeking a General Manager to lead a precision Swiss machining operation in Massachusetts. You will have full operating responsibility for safety, quality, delivery, profitability, and customer relationships while directing the annual operating plan.

This role requires strong manufacturing leadership with financial discipline and the ability to build a high-performing organization and expand customer relationships.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, operations, business or related field.
• 10+ years of progressively responsible manufacturing experience, with 5 years leading Swiss machines.
• 5+ years leadership responsibility for operations, financial results, and organizational performance.
• Experience managing a manufacturing operation or business unit with P&L responsibility.
• Strong understanding of machining economics, labor and overhead utilization, capacity planning, quoting, and capital investment.
• Experience interpreting financial statements, budgets, forecasts and performance metrics.
• Proven ability to improve safety, quality, delivery, productivity and profitability.
• Experience leading salaried and hourly employees.

Responsibilities

• Assume full responsibility for the company’s financial and operating performance, including revenue, profitability, cash flow, working capital, and capital deployment.
• Develop and execute annual budgets, operating plans, forecasts, and strategic growth initiatives.
• Set and monitor KPIs and take corrective action when performance lags.
• Identify opportunities to improve pricing, product mix, productivity, capacity utilization, and margins.
• Prepare and present results, forecasts, risks, and action plans to corporate leadership.
• Provide leadership across manufacturing, engineering, quality, supply chain, maintenance, and admin functions.
• Improve throughput, machine utilization, labor efficiency, scheduling, setup reduction, scrap, and on-time delivery.
• Lead continuous improvement using lean methods and problem-solving approaches.
• Evaluate capacity requirements and recommend equipment, automation, and facility investments.
• Maintain a safe, organized, and professional working environment.
• Maintain strong customer relationships and serve as executive contact when appropriate.
• Pursue new customers, programs, and market opportunities in collaboration with corporate.
