Job summary

Gradel Professional Search seeks a General Manager to lead a precision Swiss-style machining operation in the United States. The candidate will drive safety, quality, delivery, and profitability while expanding customer relationships and pursuing new programs.

Responsibilities include full operating P&L, annual planning, lean transformation, and cross-functional leadership across manufacturing, engineering, quality, and supply chain. Strong financial discipline and leadership are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, operations, business, or related field.
• 10+ years of progressively responsible manufacturing experience, with 5 years working with Swiss machines.
• 5+ years of leadership experience with responsibility for operations, financial results, and organizational performance.
• Proven experience managing a manufacturing operation or business unit with meaningful P&L responsibility.
• Strong understanding of machining economics, labor and overhead utilization, capacity planning, quoting, and capital investment.
• Experience interpreting financial statements, budgets, forecasts, and operational performance metrics.
• Proven ability to improve safety, quality, delivery, productivity, and profitability.
• Experience leading and developing salaried and hourly employees.

Responsibilities

• Lead overall performance including safety, quality, delivery, profitability, relationships, and growth.
• Provide leadership across manufacturing, engineering, quality, supply chain, maintenance, and admin.
• Improve throughput, machine utilization, labor efficiency, scheduling, setup reduction, scrap, and on-time delivery.
• Establish performance expectations and use operational metrics.
• Lead continuous improvement using lean methods and problem-solving.
• Evaluate capacity requirements and recommend investments in equipment and technology.
• Maintain a safe, organized, professional environment.
• Maintain strong customer relationships and pursue new opportunities.
• Collaborate with corporate to pursue customers and programs.
• Ensure quotations reflect costs, risks, lead times, and profitability.
