Job Summary

The General Manager (or Plant Manager) oversees manufacturing operations, implements best practices, drives process improvements, and leads talent acquisition to maximize production efficiency. The role involves managing daily operations, ensuring safety, quality, cost, and service standards, and developing a self-sustaining team of direct reports committed to producing quality products.

Roles and Responsibilities
  1. Provide hands-on leadership to foster team growth and culture change through performance reviews and employee engagement initiatives.
  2. Oversee Manufacturing Operations, QA/QC, Production, and Customer Service departments to meet operational, safety, and quality standards while controlling costs.
  3. Support design concepts and technological advancements for product improvements and cost reduction.
  4. Analyze activities, costs, operations, and forecasts to monitor progress toward goals.
  5. Align site mission and objectives with regional and global strategies.
  6. Identify, develop, and retain key talent within the organization.
  7. Develop and enforce plant policies and procedures in collaboration with corporate experts.
  8. Manage projects, performance data, and operational reports to ensure optimal performance.
  9. Achieve regional profitability and service level targets, contributing to strategic planning and customer satisfaction initiatives.
  10. Represent the site with local authorities and serve as Legal Representative.
  11. Manage supplier relationships and ensure resources support plant objectives.
  12. Maintain regular communication with senior management through reports on project and operational status.
  13. Other duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field (preferred).
  • 7 years of experience in the commercial printing industry manufacturing.
  • 6 years of supervisory experience.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).

  • Ability to adapt to shifting priorities with analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience managing manufacturing costs.
  • Knowledge of continuous improvement and lean methodologies.
  • Ability to establish performance metrics and motivate teams.
  • Strong change management skills and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Excellent communication skills for reporting and presentations.
  • Numerical and research skills for project issues and product analysis.
  • Ability to learn and apply new technologies.
  • Effective prioritization and task execution in high-pressure environments.
Physical Requirements
  • Work in warehouse and plant environments with exposure to dust, noise, fumes, and chemicals.
  • Ability to stand and walk on concrete surfaces.
  • Use of computer, calculator, and manual dexterity.
  • Sitting for extended periods.
  • Overtime and travel may be required.
