Cooper Farms is seeking a General Manager to lead our Egg Processing team in Northwest Ohio. The role oversees operations across Liquid Egg Processing, Spring Meadow Farms, Central Egg Processing and related warehouses, directing Plant Managers and driving performance.

The position emphasizes cross-functional leadership, budgeting, and continuous improvement with travel as needed. Competitive compensation includes profit-sharing bonuses and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a business field preferred, but will be waived for relevant experience.
• 10+ years of experience in Cooper Farms or similar operation (production, sales, logistics).
• Ability to coach and mentor personnel at all levels.
• Proactive cross-functional collaboration and strong communication of results.
• Willingness to travel as needed and build internal/external relationships.
• Self-starter focused on continuous improvement and servant leadership.
• Sound reasoning and problem-solving aptitude.

• Coordinate plant activities with Sales and each Plant Manager to meet production objectives timely and cost-effectively.
• Develop and control budgets and project planning.
• Implement cost controls on operating expenses, labor, and related costs.
• Establish and monitor production and quality performance standards.
• Provide leadership to Plant and Quality Managers in processes and leadership development.
• Oversee projects related to facilities and equipment, including purchases and installs.
• Provide leadership and training to achieve company goals.

The primary goal of this position is to oversee the operations of all egg processing facilities.
SHIFT HOURS: This is a Monday through Friday salary role
STARTING RATE: Commensurate with experience
ADDITIONAL PAY: Monthly and year-end profit-sharing bonuses (dependent upon company performance)

Job Functions

• Responsible for overseeing and directing Plant Managers for production, maintenance, quality and other support functions at Liquid Egg Processing, Spring Meadow Farms, Central Egg Processing and St. Henry Egg Warehouse.
• Coordinate plant activities through effective planning with the Sales managers and each facility’s Plant Manager to ensure production objectives are accomplished in a timely and cost-effective manner.
• Develop and control budgets and business planning to include Project management.
• Implement cost effective systems of control over operating expenses, labor costs, and other related expenses.
• Establish and monitor plant performance standards for production and quality.
• Provide guidance to the Plant and Quality Managers in operational processes and leadership development in their areas.
• Oversee all projects relating to plant facilities and equipment, including machine purchases & installs, equipment updates, expansions, etc.
• Provide leadership and training to accomplish the company goals and objectives.

Requirements

• A bachelor’s degree in a business-related field is preferred but will be waived for appropriate business experience.
• At least 10 years’ experience with Cooper Farms or similar operation in various fields including production, sales, logistics, etc.
• The ability to coach and mentor growing personnel at all levels is critical to this position.
• This position requires proactive cross-functional collaboration, sound management practices, and effective communication of results.
• The individual must build strong relationships internally and externally, support sales and customers, and be willing to travel as needed.
• The role requires a self-starter focused on continuous improvement, team development, servant leadership, the Cooper Culture, and achieving Egg Processing Operations goals.
• Sound reasoning skills and problem-solving aptitude is also important.
