Job summary

DHL Supply Chain is seeking a General Manager II - Distribution to oversee and optimize warehouse operations across our distribution sites in the United States. You will lead a team of managers, drive safety, efficiency, and customer satisfaction while safeguarding P&L performance.

Ideal applicant has 5+ years of managerial experience in warehousing or distribution, with strong leadership, strategic planning, and WMS proficiency to sustain DHL’s reputation as a global logistics leader.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of managerial or supervisory experience.
• 2+ years in a supply chain, warehousing, or distribution environment.
• Experience in 3PL/contract logistics preferred.
• Staff management experience required.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent preferred.
• Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day operations of the warehouse, including receiving, storing, and shipping goods efficiently and accurately.
• Develop and implement strategies to optimize warehouse processes, minimize costs, and maximize productivity.
• Lead and motivate a team of Operations Managers and staff, providing coaching, guidance, and support as needed, while developing a strong team culture.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies, and oversee operations and personnel activities to maintain a safe, clean, and efficient working environment.
• Utilize WMS, automation and other technology to track inventory, monitor performance metrics, and identify areas for improvement.
• Manage vendor relationships, and ensure cost-effective services and supplies while managing the site in accordance with the commercial agreement.
• Prepare and analyze reports on warehouse performance, inventory levels, and other key metrics to inform decision-making and drive continuous improvement.
• Lead customer relationships by maintaining close daily contact to ensure strong connections and customer satisfaction.
• Responsible for the site's profit and loss (P&L), which is directly influenced by customer relationships.
• Prepare and present Monthly/Quarterly Business Review (MBR/QBR) to customer, leveraging strong team collaboration.
