Position Summary

As the General Manager for Communications, Media, Entertainment & Technology (CMET), you will develop and execute growth strategies within your industry, leading a high-caliber team to expand Toptal’s enterprise customer base. You will collaborate with senior leadership to analyze market opportunities and work closely with your sales team to target, secure, and nurture relationships with Fortune 500 companies.

This is a remote position, authorized in the US, with communication in English required.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of sales and client services professionals to increase Toptal’s market share in CMET industries.
• Develop and implement strategies to acquire key prospects and deepen client relationships.
• Act as an executive sponsor, building relationships with SVPs and C-level executives.
• Utilize your professional network to broaden industry reach.
• Create hypotheses for go-to-market strategies and expand Toptal’s industry presence.
• Assess and refine short- and long-term plans to position Toptal as a leading enterprise services provider.
• Prioritize accounts and optimize engagement strategies using industry insights.
• Develop account plans and relationship maps.
• Regularly review KPIs, guide the team to increase deal velocity, and conduct performance reviews.
• Mentor team members, manage pipelines, and implement performance improvements as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s preferred in Engineering, Business, or related fields.
• Over 10 years of experience managing a business unit with operational expertise.
• At least 5 years leading professional services sales teams in CMET industries, with deep industry relationships.
• Proven success in building and managing client portfolios exceeding $20M, negotiating MSAs/SOWs, and selling complex projects to large enterprise clients.
• Knowledge of emerging technologies and software delivery concepts.
• Experience in high-growth or technology environments is preferred.
• Ability to operate effectively under deadlines in a fast-paced setting.
• Strong executive presence, storytelling, and relationship-building skills at all organizational levels.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Willingness to travel periodically for client engagement.
• Must be a proactive individual contributor capable of thriving independently.
