Job Summary

As the General Manager for Communications, Media, Entertainment & Technology (CMET), you will develop and execute growth strategies within your industry, leading a high-performing team to expand Toptal’s enterprise customer base. You will collaborate with senior leadership to identify market opportunities and work closely with sales teams to target, close, and develop relationships with Fortune 500 companies.

This is a remote position. Applicants must be authorized to work in the US, and all resumes and communications should be in English.

Responsibilities
  • Lead a team of sales and client services professionals to increase Toptal’s market share in CMET industries.
  • Develop strategies and tactics to acquire key prospects and deepen relationships with existing clients.
  • Serve as an executive sponsor, cultivating relationships with SVPs and C-level executives.
  • Leverage your professional network to expand industry reach.
  • Create hypotheses to guide go-to-market strategies and increase Toptal’s presence in CMET.
  • Evaluate and refine short, medium, and long-term plans to position Toptal as a leading enterprise services provider.
  • Prioritize accounts and optimize engagement strategies based on industry insights.
  • Develop account plans and relationship maps.
  • Regularly review KPIs, provide guidance, and coach team members.
Qualifications and Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s preferred in Engineering, Business, or related fields.
  • At least 10 years of experience managing a business unit with a strong understanding of operations and management principles.
  • Over 5 years of success leading professional services sales teams in CMET, with deep industry relationships.
  • Proven ability to establish high-impact, revenue-generating relationships and build credibility across organizational levels.
  • Experience managing client portfolios exceeding $20M, negotiating MSAs/SOWs, and selling complex projects to enterprise clients with $2B+ revenue.
  • Understanding emerging technologies and software development concepts.
  • Experience in fast-growth or technology companies is preferred.
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with strong communication and leadership skills.
  • Willingness to travel as needed.
  • Must be a capable individual contributor with a proactive approach.
