Real Property Management Diversified in New York State is seeking a General Manager to lead day-to-day operations and grow our portfolio. You’ll own operations, guide a team, and serve as the primary escalation point for owners, delivering performance insights and strategic directions.

You will drive leasing, operations, and client relations with a focus on scalable systems, compliance, and growth through proactive business development.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of general management experience; real estate leadership preferred.
• Deep knowledge of residential leasing and landlord-tenant law.
• Proven ability to lead a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Highly organized with strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.

About the Role

Real Property Management Diversified is seeking a driven and experienced General Manager to lead our day-to-day operations and help grow our portfolio of managed properties. This is a leadership role with broad responsibility — you will own operations, guide our team, serve as a primary escalation point of contact for property owners, and be a key driver of business development.

Key Responsibilities

Operations & Leasing

• Oversee all property management operations, including leasing, maintenance coordination, inspections, and move-in/move-out processes
• Ensure properties are leased quickly and to qualified tenants through effective marketing and screening practices
• Monitor and enforce lease compliance, handle lease renewals, and manage vacancy reduction strategies
• Maintain operational systems and workflows to ensure consistency, accuracy, and efficiency across the portfolio

Team Management

• Lead, develop, and hold accountable a team of property managers, leasing agents, and administrative staff
• Establish clear performance expectations, conduct regular check-ins, and foster a culture of accountability and growth
• Recruit, onboard, and train new team members as the company scales
• Manage vendor and contractor relationships to ensure quality work at competitive rates

Owner & Client Relations

• Serve as a senior point of contact for property owners, ensuring exceptional service and transparent communication
• Deliver regular performance reports and financial summaries to owners
• Proactively resolve owner concerns and build long-term relationships that drive retention
• Set and manage owner expectations on market conditions, property performance, and recommendations

Growth & Business Development

• Partner with ownership on strategies to grow the managed portfolio
• Manage the BDM and assist with Identifying and pursuing new owner acquisition opportunities through networking, referrals, and community presence
• Evaluate operational improvements and technology solutions that improve efficiency and service quality
• Track KPIs and provide leadership with regular reporting on business performance

What We’re Looking For

Required

• 10+ years of experience in general management; prefer 5+ years in a real estate leadership or supervisory role
• Strong knowledge of residential leasing, property operations, and landlord-tenant law
• Proven ability to lead and develop a team in a fast-paced environment
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills — both written and verbal
• Highly organized with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities

Preferred

• Active real estate license (or willingness to obtain)
• NARPM designation (RMP, MPM) or similar professional certification
• Experience in a general management role across any industry
• Track record of growing a property management portfolio
• Proficiency with property management software (AppFolio, Buildium, or similar)
