Job summary

Museum of Illusions in San Francisco, CA, is seeking a proactive leader to oversee operations and management of the museum team. You will hire, train, and guide a ~15-person staff, driving high performance and exceptional guest experiences.

You will manage all business functions, contribute to revenue growth, and coordinate with marketing and sales on events. The role requires strong communication and relationship-building skills and a willingness to work weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in business administration, operations, or management roles.
  • Experience in a leadership role.
  • Ability to lead a team.
  • Experience in budgeting and P&L responsibility.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to cultivate long term relationships with partners and the community.
  • Experience in hospitality and/or entertainment industry is preferred.
  • Enthusiastic with a go-getter attitude.

  • Weekend and holiday schedule required.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the museum team (~15 people). Hire and train as needed. Establish and nurture a high-performance culture within the museum team.
  • Manage all business functions, ensuring stable operations and contributing to revenue growth and profitability.
  • Execute marketing and sales events under the direction of the sales and marketing teams.
  • Act as spokesperson to the community and media, forging relationships with local organizations, educational institutions, and business clients.
  • Supervise day-to-day museum operations, ensuring smooth workflow and optimizing processes for efficiency.
  • Maintain high standards of product, services, and customer experience to ensure visitor satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with other Museums of Illusions to share best practices and develop new customer experiences.
  • Ensure operations comply with all regulations and laws, and keep stakeholders informed with regular reports.
  • Attend local community events, business meetings, and networking events to promote Museum of Illusions.

What We Are Looking For
  • 2+ years of experience in business administration, operations,ormanagementroleshighly desired.

  • Experience in a leadership rolerequired.

Physical Requirements/Demands

  • Must be able to properly express oneself, exchange information, communicate and converse with diverse cultures, races, and sexes.

  • Must be able to lift 25lbs.

  • Must be able to work both indoors and outdoors.

  • Must be able to use sight to detect,determine, perceive,observe, inspect, and assess situations.

Salary, Perks and Benefits
