Benihana - San Diego is seeking a General Manager to lead daily operations, team leadership, and financial performance in a high-volume, upscale dining environment. You will uphold brand standards, guest satisfaction, and a dynamic, high-energy atmosphere while driving profitability.

You will recruit and mentor managers and hourly staff, oversee marketing and risk management, and ensure compliance with food safety and company policies.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of leadership experience in high-volume, full-service dining.
• Proven track record of driving sales, managing budgets, and leading successful teams.
• Strong business acumen, financial expertise, and decision-making skills.
• A passion for hospitality, guest engagement, and high-energy environments.
• Tech-savvy with experience in restaurant POS systems (MICROS, Aloha, OpenTable).

Operations Leadership

Team Development & Staffing

• Recruit, hire, and onboard top-tier talent to support a high-performance culture
• Coach, train, and mentor team members to drive excellence and career growth
• Conduct regular performance evaluations and team-building initiatives

Financial & Business Performance

• Monitor sales, labor, and operating costs to maximize profitability
• Develop marketing initiatives and networking strategies to increase guest traffic and sales
• Set and execute sales forecasts, budget goals, and profitability strategiesEnsure compliance with all financial reporting and cost management standards

What We’re Looking For:
