Job description

Our client is seeking an accomplished, service-driven leader to serve as General Manager in Maryland.

This is a rare opportunity to lead a high-performing, multi-revenue marina and boatyard business at the intersection of service, operational excellence and financial performance.

This role will oversee all aspects of the operation—including marina services, boatyard operations, marine service, retail, storage, fuel, and ancillary revenue streams—while delivering an exceptional customer experience.

This leader will bring the mindset of a premium brand operator: elevating service standards, optimizing performance, developing strong teams, and driving profitable growth while maintaining a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Core Responsibilities
  • Lead the operating and financial strategy for a marina and boatyard platform, including annual budgeting, multi-year planning and full P&L accountability.
  • Drive revenue growth, margin performance, and capital investment decisions across slips, storage, service, fuel, retail and ancillary offerings.
  • Use performance data and reporting to identify risks, uncover opportunities and continuously improve operational results.
  • Provide hands‑on leadership across all departments : marina, yard, service, and customer‑facing operations, ensuring strong coordination and execution.
  • Build and refine workflows that maximize technician efficiency, yard utilization, scheduling and service turnaround time.
  • Establish and enforce best‑in‑class standards for safety, environmental stewardship and regulatory compliance.
  • Implement and optimize systems supporting service management, inventory controls and high‑touch customer communication.
  • Oversee maintenance and long‑term planning for docks, lifts, travel lifts, haul‑out equipment, forklifts and infrastructure assets.
  • Champion a premium service culture, personally managing escalated customer matters with professionalism, discretion and urgency.
  • Serve as a visible ambassador, building strong relationships with owners, captains, yacht clubs, vendors, community partners and industry stakeholders.
  • Recruit, develop and retain high‑performing teams; set clear expectations and strengthen leadership capability through coaching and succession planning.
  • Identify and execute new business opportunities, improve retention and partner with marketing to elevate brand presence and customer engagement.
  • Maintain strong risk management practices including emergency preparedness, insurance oversight, incident response and safety audits.
Required Experience
  • 3+ years of senior leadership experience in marina operations, marine services, hospitality, private clubs, high‑end automotive service or similarly premium environments.
  • Demonstrated success leading a business or division.
  • Proven P&L ownership with the ability to balance growth, service quality, and financial discipline.
  • Experience leading large, cross‑functional teams in complex, operationally intensive settings.
  • Strong understanding of service operations, infrastructure management, and customer‑facing excellence.
  • Polished communicator with the ability to engage confidently with high‑net‑worth clientele and senior stakeholders.
