Job summary

Join the Jalapeño Tree family as General Manager to lead daily restaurant operations with a focus on quality, service, cleanliness, and team development. Training will occur at the Tyler, TX location before assuming home store responsibilities.

You will drive guest satisfaction, ensure brand standards, and oversee budgeting, cost controls, and P&L management while leading managers and hourly staff to deliver Crazy Good Mexican Food™ in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 2+ years as GM or strong Assistant Manager in a full-service or fast-paced restaurant
• High school diploma or GED
• Valid driver’s license
• Must be at least 21 years old
• Strong leadership, coaching, and team-building skills
• Excellent communication and guest service abilities
• Solid understanding of budgeting, cost controls, and P&L management
• Proficiency with POS systems and Microsoft Office tools
• Self-motivated, dependable, and detail-oriented

Description

The General Manager is responsible for the overall success of a Jalapeño Tree restaurant, leading all daily operations with a focus on quality, service, cleanliness, and team development. This includes oversight of front and back-of-house operations, labor scheduling, inventory management, and financial performance.

The GM drives guest satisfaction, ensures consistent execution of Crazy Good Mexican Food™, and fosters a positive, inclusive workplace. Responsibilities include training and developing managers and hourly staff, maintaining food safety and sanitation standards, resolving guest issues, ensuring regulatory compliance, and upholding brand standards. All new managers will complete initial training at the Jalapeño Tree in Tyler, TX, before assuming their home store responsibilities.

Requirements

Experience & Qualifications:

2+ years as a General Manager or strong Assistant Manager in a full-service or fast-paced restaurant

High school diploma or GED required

Valid driver’s license

Must be at least 21 years old

Strong leadership, coaching, and team-building skills

Excellent communication and guest service abilities

Solid understanding of budgeting, cost controls, and P&L management

Proficiency with POS systems and Microsoft Office tools

Physical Requirements:

Able to stand, walk, bend, and move at a rapid pace for extended periods

Able to lift up to 50 lbs and work in hot/cold environments

Must be able to work 50–55 hours per week, including weekends and holidays
