Position Summary
The General Manager is responsible for the overall leadership, strategic direction, financial performance, operational execution, and growth of the business unit. This role provides executive oversight of operations, business development, project delivery, safety performance, workforce development, and customer relationships while ensuring alignment with corporate objectives.
The successful candidate will drive sustainable growth, operational excellence, and profitability while developing a high-performing culture focused on safety, accountability, innovation, and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
Business Leadership & Strategy
- Provide overall leadership and direction for the business unit.
- Develop and execute strategic business plans to achieve revenue, profitability, and growth objectives.
- Establish annual operating plans, budgets, and performance targets.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance operational effectiveness and financial performance.
- Serve as the primary leader for regional expansion and market development efforts.
- Manage full profit and loss (P&L) accountability for the business unit.
- Develop annual budgets, forecasts, and capital expenditure plans.
- Monitor key financial metrics including revenue, gross margin, EBITDA, utilization, and backlog.
- Identify opportunities to improve profitability while maintaining service quality and customer satisfaction.
- Ensure responsible stewardship of company assets and resources.
Operations Management
- Oversee all operational activities including project execution, engineering, automation services, field services, maintenance support, logistics, and customer delivery.
- Ensure operational processes, systems, and resources are aligned to support business objectives.
- Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure operational effectiveness.
- Implement best practices that improve efficiency, quality, safety, and customer outcomes.
- Resolve escalated operational challenges and ensure successful project delivery.
Business Development & Client Relations
- Lead strategic customer engagement efforts and strengthen relationships with key accounts.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the Oil & Gas, Industrial, Manufacturing, Midstream, and Energy sectors.
- Partner with sales and leadership teams to develop growth strategies and market penetration plans.
- Participate in client presentations, contract negotiations, and executive-level business reviews.
- Expand the company's market presence through networking, industry involvement, and customer advocacy.
Leadership & Talent Development
- Build, lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing management team.
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
- Establish succession planning and workforce development initiatives.
- Drive employee engagement, retention, and professional development programs.
- Ensure organizational alignment with company values and strategic objectives.
Safety, Quality & Compliance
- Champion a strong safety culture with zero-incident objectives.

- Lead risk management initiatives and operational audits as required.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Operations Management, Industrial Technology, or related field preferred.
- Minimum 15 years of progressive leadership experience within industrial services, systems integration, automation, electrical and instrumentation, manufacturing, or Oil & Gas industries.
- Minimum 7-10 years of senior leadership experience managing multiple departments, business units, or large-scale operations.
- Demonstrated success managing P&L responsibility and driving profitable business growth.
- Proven experience leading large teams and developing management-level personnel.
- Strong understanding of operational technology, industrial automation, engineering services, and project execution.
- Experience with budgeting, forecasting, strategic planning, and financial reporting.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel as required.
