Founding Farmers Restaurant Group is seeking a General Manager who will lead daily operations, drive sales, and nurture a culture of hospitality while delivering scratch-made food and a memorable guest experience.

This on-site role offers a clear career path with growth opportunities and requires flexibility to work across DC, MD, or VA, plus experience in high-volume restaurants and strong financial skills.

Qualifications

• Flexibility to work in either DC, MD or VA.
• Experience in high-volume restaurants with 1–2 years preferred.
• Strong understanding of restaurant operations.
• Robust financial aptitude in respect to business operations.
• Passion for hospitality.

Responsibilities

• Control day-to-day operations by scheduling, ordering, and developing restaurant team members.
• Support profit & loss management by following cash control procedures and reviewing financial reports.
• Recruit, interview, and hire staff, motivate and train team, and disciplinary actions as needed.
• Ensure fully staffed, fully trained, and fully performing location.
• Oversee health and safety codes and company safety policies.
• Lead a culture of safety and promote a positive working environment.
• Drive company goals for a best-in-class guest experience.
• Support Managing Partner in addressing guest reviews and experiences.
• Maintain products consistent with company quality standards and recipes.
• Partner with marketing initiatives and timely execution.

Salary Range: $115k - $130k

WHAT OUR GENERAL MANAGERS DO:

• Control day-to-day operations by scheduling, ordering, and developing restaurant team members
• Support profit & loss management by following cash control/security procedures, maintaining inventory, managing labor, reviewing financial reports, and taking appropriate actions
• Recruit, interview, and hire staff, motivate and train team, and take disciplinary actions, as needed
• Ensure fully staffed, fully trained, and fully performing location
• Oversee and adhere to local health and safety codes, as well as company-wide safety and security policies
• Follow the preventative maintenance program for facility, equipment, appliances, fixtures, etc.
• Lead a culture of safety and promote a positive working environment
• Drive the company goals and objectives for creating a best-in-class guest experience
• Support the Managing Partner in addressing guest reviews and ensuring exceptional guest experiences
• Maintain and ensure all products are consistent with company quality standards and recipes
• Partner with and complete timely execution of marketing initiatives

WHAT YOU NEED TO BE AN ASSISTANT GENERAL MANAGER:

• Flexibility to work in either DC, MD or VA
• Experience in high volume restaurants, with a minimum of one to two years preferred
• Strong understanding of restaurant operations
• Robust financial aptitude in respect to business operations
• Passion for hospitality
• Ability to stand for extended periods of time and lift up to 50 pounds, as needed
• Capable of continuous bending, stooping, reaching, twisting, and use of hands and arms
• Ability to lead and develop a team
• Be caring, self-motivated, and exhibit an aptitude for leading, coaching, and driving excellence
