The Club at Strawberry Creek in Kenosha, Wisconsin, is seeking a General Manager to lead a private, family-owned golf and country club with a full membership, a waiting list, and a busy wedding and events business. Established in 2000, the Club features an 18-hole, links-style championship course designed by Rick Jacobson, a 38,000-square-foot clubhouse, golf simulators, pool, fitness, tennis, and pickleball. Located on the Lake Michigan shoreline about an hour from Chicago and 45 minutes from Milwaukee, the Club is financially stable and supported by an experienced, long-tenured team.
The General Manager is the senior operating position, reporting directly to the President and Owner and leading seven department heads across accounting, food and beverage, membership, golf, course maintenance, aquatics, and fitness. This role is accountable for member experience, financial performance, and staff leadership across golf, dining, family amenities, and an events calendar of about 40 weddings and 5 to 10 outings each year. A key focus in the first year will be unifying the leadership team around shared goals and accountability, establishing a consistent monthly financial reporting schedule with ownership, reviewing wedding and event pricing and sales practices, and building service training programs that raise the member experience.
This is a highly visible leadership opportunity for an entrepreneurial, owner-minded General Manager with seven or more years of experience, preferably in a private club. The right candidate leads with a member-facing style and brings strong food and beverage, events, and P&L experience.
