Role Description

The General Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Houston, TX, responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations, staff management, and service performance. This role directs dispatch, fleet utilization, and driver scheduling to ensure on-time, safe delivery of freight and optimal use of company assets. The General Manager monitors key operational and financial metrics, manages budgets, and drives process improvements to enhance efficiency and profitability. Daily responsibilities include supervising and coaching team members, resolving operational issues, and maintaining strong relationships with customers, vendors, and partners. The role also ensures compliance with all applicable transportation, safety, and employment regulations, while supporting strategic planning and growth initiatives.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience in transportation, logistics, or freight operations leadership, preferably within trucking or over-the-road services.
• Strong people management skills, including team leadership, performance coaching, and workforce planning.
• Proficiency in operational planning, scheduling, and resource allocation to meet service and efficiency goals.
• Solid understanding of transportation regulations, safety standards, and compliance requirements.
