Job Summary
As a General Manager, you will be the face of the company, ensuring high standards of quality and service. Your role is to ensure that food is served hot or cold as appropriate, all food is fresh, and the environment is clean, all while maintaining a professional appearance and a positive attitude.
Responsibilities
- Build teams by recruiting and hiring top talent, and managing performance to retain staff.
- Coach, develop, and motivate team members following Capriotti’s training standards; identify additional development needs to encourage growth and retention.
- Prepare team schedules focusing on operational excellence and cost management, ensuring guest satisfaction and team morale.
- Model standards and maintain the culture of delivering captivating service to guests.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and sanitation standards.
- Prepare products according to Capriotti’s specifications, maintaining quality and presentation.
- Maintain recipe integrity to ensure a consistent guest experience across all locations.
- Manage cash, bank deposits, budgets, and financial transactions related to the shop.
- Promote sales through suggestive selling and a service-oriented mindset.
- Implement effective purchasing, inventory, receiving, and waste procedures.
- Participate in and promote brand-wide and local marketing initiatives, including local shop marketing.
- Use effective communication skills to foster positive relationships with team members, guests, vendors, and others.
- Build an environment of trust within the shop.
- Demonstrate emotional resilience under pressure and during changing priorities.
- Analyze information and evaluate results to solve problems effectively.
Qualifications
Skills and Knowledge:
- Service orientation—actively seeks ways to help others.
- Time management—ability to multi-task and stay focused during busy periods.
- Computer proficiency—experience with POS systems and general computer use.
- Bilingual skills are a plus.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to work in temperatures of 0°F or less and up to 100°F.
- Ability to move throughout the restaurant for extended periods.
- Lift up to 50 lbs. for short distances.
- Balance and move with weights up to 25 lbs. over distances.
