Job Summary

General Manager for the Extended Stay America (ESA) Dayton North.

The General Manager is a polished, well-spoken and well-regarded ambassador who carries a strong vision for their hotel. He or she is responsible for all aspects of operations for their assigned property, providing support, supervision, and guidance to their management team and front-line associates. The role ensures that financial performance is optimized, high-quality product and service levels are maintained, and the hotel is operated in compliance with all regulations, company, and brand standards.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Lead operational initiatives including sales plans, budget development, and physical property improvements.
  2. Provide hands-on leadership to maximize revenue and control expenses.
  3. Communicate effectively with guests, clients, associates, ownership, corporate, brand representatives, and vendors.
  4. Maintain high standards of appearance, grooming, and professionalism.
  5. Ensure compliance with all safety, health, and company policies.
  6. Participate in sales efforts, including client meetings and hosting events.
  7. Oversee financial reviews, budgeting, and reporting.
  8. Develop management staff for future growth.
  9. Ensure maintenance, cleanliness, and safety standards of the property.
  10. Handle staffing, hiring, and performance evaluations.
  11. Promote a positive, team-oriented environment focused on guest satisfaction.
  12. Perform regular inspections and ensure financial procedures are followed.
  13. Forecast financial performance and analyze data for decision-making.
  14. Maintain effective communication and relationships across departments.
Qualifications
  • At least 6 years of progressive hotel or related experience, or a 4-year degree with 4-5 years of experience, or a 2-year degree with 5-6 years of experience.
  • Proficiency in Windows OS, spreadsheets, and word processing.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and stress management skills.
  • Ability to analyze financial data and manage budgets.
