As the General Manager, you will play a key role in driving operational excellence, ensuring customer satisfaction, managing staff, and contributing to the growth and success of the company. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in leadership and business management in a home service industry, with the ability to balance customer service, financial oversight, and strategic planning. This role requires someone with a proactive mindset who is committed to going the extra mile to step in for their team, drive customer satisfaction, and a healthy team dynamic.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operational Leadership : Oversee all aspects of daily operations for your region. This includes ownership of the regional P&L, branch service team, fleet and inventory, customer service excellence and ensuring quality standards and safety protocols are consistently met.
  • Team Management : Lead, motivate, and develop a diverse team of employees, including field technicians, customer service staff, and administrative personnel. As a senior leader, the GM also ensures staffing levels meet demand and supports office staff by offering advice, resources, or guidance in handling complex tasks, managing workloads, or improving internal processes.
  • Software Adoption & Support: Training will be provided for Poolie’s software stack, which is largely composed of HubSpot, PoolBrain, and Podium. General Managers are the first line of internal software support for the Service Managers, Supervisors, and Technicians in their region when they don’t know how to handle something according to the organization’s SOPs.
  • Customer Relations and Retention : Foster positive relationships with clients, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction through effective communication and resolution of issues. Oversee client inquiries, complaints, and service requests. Priority focus on customer retention and growth for the regional service department.
  • Financial Management : Manage the region’s P&L, KPI’s, and implement cost-effective strategies to maintain profitability. Prepare KPIs and ensure that revenue targets are met or exceeded.
  • Sales and Marketing : Collaborate with the sales and marketing teams to drive business growth through strategic initiatives, including promoting new services and expanding the customer base. Primary decision maker for approving service area development & expansion.
  • Process Improvement : Continuously analyze and improve regional processes and systems to increase operational efficiency, enhance customer experience, and reduce costs.
  • Strategic Planning : Assist in the development of long-term goals and strategies for company growth. Evaluate customer feedback to identify new opportunities, lead weekly team meetings with managers, participate in regional meetings and other leadership programs.
  • Compliance : Oversees branch compliance with company policies, OSHA regulations, and safety protocols for office facilities. Manages the maintenance and ensures the continued functionality of office spaces and warehouse facilities.
