Are you a proactive and results-oriented leader with a passion for operations and growth? As our General Manager, you will be the driving force behind the efficient and profitable operation of our vending route business in the Chicago area. This hands-on role requires a strategic thinker with strong execution skills and the ability to manage diverse responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Business Development: Identify, pursue, and secure new vending locations to expand our business footprint within Chicago. Respond effectively to inbound leads and proactively seek outbound opportunities.
  • Client Relationship Management: Cultivate and maintain strong, positive relationships with both existing and potential clients, ensuring their satisfaction and exploring opportunities for growth.
  • Data-Driven Performance Management: Develop and deliver comprehensive monthly reports on route performance, inventory utilization, sales trends, and key operational insights. Utilize data to identify areas for optimization and improvement in route efficiency and product offerings.
  • Efficient Inventory Management: Oversee daily inventory ordering based on route demands and machine stock levels. Collaborate closely with pickers and stockers to ensure accurate and timely order fulfillment and delivery schedules.
  • Route & Warehouse Optimization: Manage and supervise stockers and pickers to ensure smooth and efficient daily operations and the timely servicing of all vending routes. Maintain a clean, safe, and well-organized warehouse environment. Continuously monitor and improve logistical workflows and stocking systems.
  • Technical Support & Customer Satisfaction: Serve as the primary point of contact for technical issues related to vending machines, payment systems, and refrigeration units, troubleshooting and resolving issues promptly. Professionally and efficiently address all customer complaints and concerns at client locations.
  • Sound Financial Management: Manage day-to-day cash flow, ensure timely payment of all business-related expenses (e.g., utilities, maintenance, suppliers), and maintain accurate and detailed expense records.
  • Transparent Revenue Sharing: Accurately calculate and distribute revenue share payments to clients on a quarterly basis, ensuring timely and transparent communication with all revenue-sharing partners.
  • Strategic Resource Management: Order and maintain essential warehouse equipment and supplies (shelves, bins, carts, etc.). Source and acquire necessary equipment such as freezers and refrigerators to support current operations and future growth.

What You'll Bring To The Team

  • Proven Operations Leadership: A minimum of 1-3 years of progressive experience in operations management, logistics management, or a similar leadership role. Experience within the vending or retail industry is a significant plus.
  • Exceptional Organizational & Time Management: Outstanding organizational, time-management, and multitasking abilities to effectively manage diverse responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong Communication & Interpersonal Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport and effectively interact with team members, clients, and vendors.
  • Inventory & Financial Acumen: Familiarity with inventory management systems and a solid understanding of basic financial tracking and management principles.
  • Technical Aptitude & Problem-Solving: Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and resolve basic technical issues related to equipment. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to address operational challenges.
  • Proactive & Detail-Oriented: A self-motivated and proactive approach with a strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy and reliability.
  • Valid Driver's License & Mobility: A valid driver’s license and the ability to travel locally within the Chicago area to visit vending locations and clients as needed.
