mdf commerce Inc . is an international team of approximately 650 experts who develop a broad set of SaaS solutions to optimize and accelerate commercial interactions of its B2B and B2G customers.

Working in the eprocurement sector, our team at Periscope is looking for a General Manager who is responsible for driving the success of Periscope’s relationship with the State of Hawaii and its State agencies, local governments and suppliers participating in the Aloha eBUYS VCAF Program. Aloha eBUYS is a Periscope solution focused on providing a full procure-to-pay network and marketplace for governments and suppliers in Hawaii. The General Manager will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to increase usage of Aloha eBUYS across the state, ensuring user satisfaction and increasing total spend.

In this role, the General Manager is the primary relationship manager across the entire range of Periscope products and services to the State, while also leading the customer account planning cycle and ensuring State’s needs and expectations are met by Periscope. In addition, the General Manager, with the assistance of a dedicated Account Manager and Periscope internal SMEs, will be responsible for overseeing State agencies and local government engagement, including Periscope’s Marketplace and managed services. Managed services activities include, but are not limited to strategic sourcing projects, identifying new vendor contracts to participate in Aloha eBUYS, and developing new initiatives to increase the value in Aloha eBUYS to all stakeholders. This position will be required to work during Hawaii Standard Time working hours, with coverage over the entire state.

What will your main responsibilities look like?

In this role, you will be led to :

  • Serve as Company’s strategic relationship manager for the State.
  • Establish productive, professional relationships with key state and local government buyers, stakeholders, and suppliers within state.
  • Coordinate the involvement of Company personnel to meet account performance objectives and customers’ expectations.
  • Develop and implement annual operational plans with State’s stakeholders and meets monthly to review progress on those plans.
  • Work with Marketing and Supplier Success to ensure supplier outreach, enablement, and marketing activities to get more suppliers into Aloha eBUYS and continue to build business.
  • Attend conferences, trade shows, meetings, etc., to promote Aloha eBUYS.
  • Negotiate and manage contracts with suppliers onboarding and / or participating in Aloha eBUYS.
  • Ensure Company activities comply with state procurement laws and regulations.
  • Proactively assess, clarify, and validate customer needs on an ongoing basis.
  • Lead account solution efforts that best address customer needs, while coordinating the involvement of all necessary Company personnel (Support, Services, Product, etc.).
  • Lead renewal activities when customers are approaching term end and coordinates appropriate resources (legal, finance, etc.) to facilitate successful execution.
  • Exhibit robust knowledge of Aloha eBUYS and software solutions (as implemented) and leverage knowledge to understand / serve customers needs.
  • Travel approximately 25% - 50%, primarily within Hawaii.

What elements of your professional background will be necessary and useful in this role?

  • 15 years of total professional experience, with 5-7 years at the strategic management level.
  • Public purchasing for US state and local government preferred.
  • Experience working in or doing business in Hawaii preferred.
  • Relevant B2B or B2G product, sales and marketing experience with significant experience in management at a senior level; additional experience in e-commerce to businesses and / or government is a strong plus.
  • Proven record of accomplishment with a consistent track record of demonstrating a measurable, positive impact on all facets of the business including profitability, revenue, and growth.
  • Strong interpersonal and communications skills; must have an established track record of building strong relationships with key constituencies.
  • Evidence of having attained strong client relationships with the ability to interact with C-level executives.
  • Experience managing multiple goals simultaneously, with an immediate impact in a high-growth, fast-paced, fluid environment.
  • Entrepreneurial, out-of-the-box thinker, intellectually curious and lifelong learner.
  • Self-motivated and can easily function in an often unstructured and high-demand, performance-driven environment.
  • A natural leader who can gain trust, respect and credibility with team members and senior management.
  • Highly organized and possess exceptional planning and time management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal skills, communicating in an open, clear, and honest way.
  • Power user of Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
