Human Resources Generalist at VenturED Solutions

About VenturEd

VenturEd is building the future of digital infrastructure for education by connecting schools, families, and administrators through intelligent software. Our expanding portfolio—including Ravenna, TADS, and CampusPay—supports a decentralized, acquisition-driven ecosystem that spans the entire student lifecycle. As we work to unify payments across this platform, we’re looking for a seasoned payments leader to accelerate revenue, improve user experience, and drive cross-product adoption of embedded financial services.

The Role

The General Manager of Payments at VenturEd will play a pivotal role in transforming payments from a supporting function into a central pillar of our business strategy. This role is instrumental in orchestrating the evolution of our payment offerings to lead in education payments, deliver world-class customer experiences, and accelerate recurring revenue growth across our platform.

We’re looking for a proven, results-oriented leader with deep experience in SaaS and embedded payments, ideally within vertical software or edtech. The ideal candidate understands both the revenue potential and operational complexity of payments in fragmented environments—and thrives on solving both. You’ll own the P&L for payments, drive cross-functional execution, and lead the charge to activate, standardize, and scale embedded payments across multiple acquired product lines and customer segments.

This role is not about maintaining the status quo—it’s about unlocking the next stage of growth by delivering better payment workflows, unifying vendors, and solving meaningful problems for our schools and families.

Key Responsibilities:

Payments Strategy & Execution

  • Own and scale the payments business with full accountability for the payments P&L, including revenue growth, gross margin, customer satisfaction, activation, and retention.
  • Define and execute a unified payments roadmap with the product team across multiple acquired and independently operating products.
  • Centralize and standardize payment workflows, vendor relationships, onboarding, reconciliation, and reporting.
  • Lead the evolution from decentralized implementations to a cohesive platform-wide solution.
  • Identify and implement strategies to increase payments activation, volume, and monetization.
  • Partner with sales, enablement, and customer success teams to position payments as a strategic value driver.
  • Develop pricing strategies, feature packaging, and educational programs to grow net yield and adoption.
  • Deliver financial models, forecasts, and reporting in partnership with finance and executive stakeholders.

Cross-functional Leadership

  • Serve as the central orchestrator across product, engineering, operations, finance, legal, and GTM teams.
  • Collaborate with product leaders to prioritize development and ensure seamless experiences.
  • Define and track KPIs across performance, satisfaction, and efficiency.
  • Foster alignment around payments as a core product and monetization lever.
  • Directly manage the Director of Payment Operations to align daily execution with strategy.
  • Oversee payment vendors across Ravenna, TADS, CampusPay, and additional platforms.
  • Lead vendor selection and consolidation across current and future products in an effort to enhance performance and reduce costs.
  • Develop onboarding and offboarding playbooks that minimize disruption.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • 8+ years in payments, fintech, or SaaS, with at least 3 years in a GM or senior leadership role with P&L ownership.
  • Proven success in selling or operationalizing payments in vertical software or edtech.
  • Deep understanding of card-present, card-not-present, and ACH processing, reconciliation, fraud, and compliance.
  • Experience leading in complex, decentralized environments with fragmented systems.
  • Strong leadership and cross-functional influence.
  • Comfort with financial modeling and data-driven decision-making.

Preferred:

  • Experience managing functional or operations teams.
  • Familiarity with education sector workflows (tuition, enrollment, financial aid).
  • Background in vertical SaaS (e.g., franchise, healthcare, field services).
  • Experience with Stripe, Worldpay, Adyen, Global, NMI.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field; MBA preferred.

This is a remote role with up to 15% travel expected for team off-sites, school conferences, and vendor visits. Regular collaboration across U.S. time zones will be required via video conference.
