  • Work closely with the Event Director to plan, staff, and execute private events, concerts, themed nights, and special programming.
  • Support event logistics including staffing plans, menu execution, bar service, and guest flow.
  • Ensure events align with Buck ’54 service standards while supporting larger Buck Hill initiatives.
  • Serve as a key liaison between Buck ’54, Buck Hill leadership, and the Event Director.
  • Communicate clearly with ownership regarding operations, staffing, challenges, and opportunities.
  • Foster strong cross-department collaboration.

Position Overview

The General Manager (GM) of Buck ’54 Bar & Grill is responsible for the overall leadership, operations, and performance of the restaurant and bar. This role oversees day-to-day operations while setting the tone for hospitality, culture, and execution. The GM will work closely with Buck Hill leadership and the Event Director to plan and execute on-site events, seasonal programming, and high-volume service periods tied to the ski hill and year-round activities.

This is a hands-on leadership role that requires strong operational discipline, people leadership, and the ability to balance consistency with creativity in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operations & Guest Experience
    • Lead all daily restaurant and bar operations to ensure exceptional guest experience, efficiency, and consistency
    • Maintain high standards for service, cleanliness, safety, and brand presentation
    • Actively manage the floor during peak periods, events, and high-volume service
    • Ensure compliance with all health, safety, liquor, and labor regulations
  • Leadership & Team Development
    • Recruit, hire, train, and retain front-of-house and back-of-house leadership and staff
    • Build a positive, accountable, and guest-focused team culture
    • Set clear expectations and provide coaching, feedback, and performance management
    • Schedule and manage labor effectively based on volume, seasonality, and events
  • Financial & Administrative Management
    • Manage labor targets and control costs (food, beverage, and operational expenses)
    • Monitor sales performance and identify opportunities to improve profitability
    • Oversee inventory management, ordering, and vendor relationships
  • Menu Development & Beverage Program
    • Lead seasonal menu development in collaboration with hill leadership and ownership
    • Ensure menus align with brand, seasonality, operational execution, and guest expectations
    • Oversee beverage offerings, pricing, and promotions to drive sales and guest engagement
    • Ensure recipes, standards, and execution are consistent across service periods
  • Events & Programming

Qualifications
