Job summary

Northwest x Southern Hospitality is hiring a General Manager in Anchorage, AK. This role leads all hotel operations, drives profitability, and ensures high guest satisfaction through strong team leadership and strategic planning.

The GM will manage budgets, revenue, and expenses, ensure safety and brand compliance, and work with department heads to achieve service and financial goals in a fast-paced environment.

Summary:

This position is responsible for the overall leadership, management, and profitability of the hotel, overseeing all departments to ensure exceptional guest satisfaction, team member engagement, operational excellence, and financial performance. The General Manager develops and implements business strategies, manages budgets, revenue, expenses, and hotel operations, ensures compliance with brand standards, company policies, and safety regulations, and leads hiring, training, coaching, and performance management of team members. The role works closely with department heads to achieve revenue and guest service goals, monitors quality assurance and operational performance, resolves guest concerns, supports sales and marketing initiatives, maintains strong community and business relationships, and fosters a positive, service-focused culture while ensuring the hotel operates efficiently, safely, and profitably.

Qualifications:

Candidates should have a high school diploma or equivalent; previous hotel, restaurant, or hospitality experience is required. Strong knowledge of hotel operations, guest service, and team leadership is desired, along with excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills. The ideal candidate can manage daily operations, support and develop team members, and maintain high service and performance standards in a fast-paced environment. Candidates should be proficient with computers and technical systems, including Microsoft Office, and able to use office equipment efficiently and accurately. The ability to obtain any required government or brand-specific permits, licenses, or certifications is required. This role requires a flexible schedule, including varied shifts, nights, weekends, holidays, and a minimum commitment of 40 hours per week.
