Job summary

Quality Services International, LLC is seeking a reliable General Maintenance Worker to join our facilities team. You will handle everyday repairs, preventive maintenance, and basic building upkeep.

No HVAC certification required to apply, but you must obtain it within the first 6 months; the company will cover training costs. Essential duties include repairing machines and buildings, plumbing and electrical work, and basic carpentry.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Experience working in an outdoor or indoor building environment.
  • Be able to read, write, and understand English.
  • Must be able to pass a background check.
  • Valid Driver License required with a good driving record.

Responsibilities

  • Repair and maintain machines, equipment, and buildings including plumbing, electrical, and HVAC related systems.
  • Construct partitions, plaster or drywall repairs, and roof/windows/doors repairs.
  • Maintain equipment and machinery in cafeterias, laundries, hospitals, stores, offices, and factories.
  • Troubleshoot and fix faulty electrical switches and motors; unclog drains.
  • Use hand and power tools to replace worn parts and adjust systems.
  • Record maintenance and repair work accurately.
  • Create and maintain Activity Hazard Analysis.
  • Assist other trades in basic carpentry and maintenance tasks.
  • May perform grounds maintenance as needed.
  • Work as part of the maintenance team to cover shifts as required.

General Summary:

Pay Rate: $31.32/hour

Quality Services International, LLC is seeking a reliable, handy, and motivated General Maintenance Worker to join our facilities team. In this role, you will handle everyday repairs, preventative maintenance, and basic building upkeep. No prior HVAC certification is required to apply! We are looking for someone with strong foundational maintenance skills who is eager to grow. As a condition of employment, you must obtain your HVAC certification within your first 6 months of employment. *The Company will fully cover the cost of training, coursework, and examination costs to help you earn this credential!

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Will have skills in many different crafts.
  • Repair and maintain machines, mechanical equipment, and buildings and work on plumbing, electrical, and air-conditioning and heating systems.
  • Build partitions, make plaster or drywall repairs, and fix or paint roofs, windows, doors, floors, woodwork, and other parts of building structures.
  • Maintain and repair specialized equipment and machinery found in cafeterias, laundries, hospitals, stores, offices, and factories.
  • Typical duties include troubleshooting and fixing faulty electrical switches, repairing air-conditioning motors, and unclogging drains.
  • New buildings sometimes have computer-controlled systems that allow maintenance workers to make adjustments in building settings and monitor for problems from a central location.
  • Must be able to use hand and power tools such as screwdrivers, saws, drills, wrenches, and hammers, as well as specialized equipment and electronic testing devices
  • Replace or fix worn or broken parts, where necessary, or adjust to correct malfunctioning equipment and machines.
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance and ensure that machines continue to run smoothly, building systems operate efficiently, and the physical condition of buildings does not deteriorate.
  • Following a checklist, they may inspect drives, motors, and belts, check fluid levels, replace filters, and perform other maintenance actions.
  • Must keep accurate records of all maintenance and repair work conducted.
  • Create and maintain Activity Hazard Analysis
  • Assists other trades in basic carpentry and other basic construction/maintenance tasks.
  • May be required to do grounds maintenance
  • Assist others as part of the maintenance team as required

Knowledge, Experience and Skill Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Experience working in an outdoor or indoor building environment
  • Be able to read, write, and understand English.
  • Must be able to pass a background check
  • Valid Driver License required with a good driving record

Working Conditions:

Must be able to lift 50 lbs., squat, bend, stoop and kneel for short periods, climb a ladder, stand for long periods of time, constant arm extensions.

Occasional exposure to elements such as heat, cold, noise, dust, dirt, chemicals, but none to the point of being disagreeable.

May involve minor safety hazards where likely result would be cuts, bruises, etc.

This job is mission essential personnel and will be needed to work as required.

*The Company will cover expense of obtaining HVAC certification with the stipulation that employee must remain employed for a specific amount of time as outlined in a mutually agreed upon course agreement. Employee must refund employer if stipulations of the course agreement are not met.
