Job summary

Tessera is seeking a hard-working General Maintenance Worker I at the Naval Air Station Whidbey Island in Oak Harbor, WA. This full-time day-shift role performs a variety of maintenance tasks across buildings and grounds to support mission readiness.

The position offers $28.42 per hour with full-time benefits including health, retirement, paid holidays and vacation, tuition assistance, and professional development opportunities.

Qualifications

Compensation: $ 2 8.42 - $ 2 8.42 per hour

Tessera is seeking a hard-working and dedicated General Maintenance Worker with a positive attitude.

Typical duties include but are not limited to:

• Responsible for a variety of tasks, which may include applying touch-up paint, caulking, replacing floor and ceiling tile , replacing electrical outlets, switching covers and bulbs, repairing/replacing door hardware, cleaning roof drains and gutters.


• Assist skilled workers in performing various electrical, carpentry, plumbing, or masonry work.


• Responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of buildings, grounds, and equipment.


• Communicate and interact directly with the customer and supervisors, informing the customer of unexpected or additional repairs and determining customer needs.


• Respond to customer inquiries and complaints.


• Ensure completed work meets quality control standards.


• Make difficult diagnoses and suggest solutions and repairs to customers and supervisors.


• Communicate with scheduler to update status of repairs and estimate completion dates.


• Follow all safety procedures and policies.


• Maintain professionalism in both appearance and demeanor.

Physical Requirements:

• Employees must have the ability to perform the following physical demands for extended periods of time with or without assistance . The physical demands of this position may be reasonably accommodated for individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions on a case-by-case basis .


• Must be able to lift and/or move up to 70 pounds.


• May be required to reach, kneel, walk, stand, and use repetitive motion for several hours at a time based on position duties.


• Work may require repetitive motion, reaching, lifting, kneeling, and walking. Standing or sitting for several hours at a time, climbing in and out of a vehicle, and up and down stairs may also be required .


• Must have the perseverance to work effectively under pressure for extended periods of time.

Requirements:

• A valid state driver's license is required with the ability to obtain and maintain coverage by Tessera's insurance.


• Must be able to obtain and maintain applicable security clearances and installation access. A background check and E-Verify will be conducted for this position .
