Maintenance 2nd Shift – Facility: Garner, NC

Carolina Metal Recyclers (CMR), a subsidiary of TT&E Iron & Metal, is searching for a Maintenance 2nd Shift technician for our facility in Garner, NC.

Duties

• Maintenance of light equipment, conveyor systems and general facility maintenance such as greasing bearings, changing belts.
• Preventative maintenance, troubleshooting and repair work.

Responsibilities

• Identify/troubleshoot all conveyor systems and various metals processing equipment.
• Perform routine and technical maintenance and repairs on conveyor and metals processing equipment.
• Perform maintenance during unscheduled system downtime on conveyor systems and various metals processing equipment.
• Organize and/or clean the yard as needed.
• Work with all safety guidelines and requirements, and lead training of safety standards to personnel.
• Other routine tasks, duties and responsibilities as assigned by shredder manager/supervisor.

Experience

Some experience in similar scrap handling work or manufacturing operations is desired. Hands‑on experience with the operation and maintenance of shredders and material handling equipment (e.g., cranes, loaders) is a plus.

Skills

Must be able to communicate and work well with coworkers/supervisors to ensure the completion of mechanical and maintenance repairs expeditiously and cost‑effectively to avoid work stoppages while maintaining safety. Should have a good understanding of the operation of equipment and be able to determine problems and make decisions to solve them.

Physical Activities Required

• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds as needed.
• Walk and be outside 8-10 hours per day.
