Job summary

Mauser Packaging Solutions in Charlotte, NC, seeks a Maintenance Mechanic to inspect, repair, and maintain packaging and processing equipment in a fast-paced metal manufacturing environment. You will troubleshoot machinery, perform preventive maintenance, operate CMMS to log labor and parts, and comply with GMP/ISO9001 standards.

The role requires high school diploma and 2+ years of maintenance experience; willingness to overtime and be on-call may apply.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; a technical degree in a maintenance-related field is preferred.
• Minimum 2 years of maintenance mechanic experience in a metal manufacturing environment with troubleshooting ability.
• Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practice ISO9001 standards for metal manufacturing.
• PLC experience preferred.
• Experience and ability to use welding, cutting, machine, and hand tools is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Clean and lubricate shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of machinery.
• Troubleshoot and repair machinery such as slitters, collectors, high-speed welders, conveyors, and palletizers.
• Install and maintain pipe systems, hydraulic and pneumatic equipment.
• Repair and replace gauges, valves, pressure regulators, and other related equipment.
• Perform building maintenance including minor plumbing, welding, and general upkeep.
• Repair and assess electrical issues as they arise.
• Familiarize yourself with our CMMS system and log labor/parts according to established expectations.
• Work overtime, including weekends and off-shifts, as required.
• Participate in the on-call program and may be required to work additional hours on off-shift due to the on-call program.
• Understand quality, PPE requirements, safety, and the importance of complying with safety policies and procedures.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk, stand for long periods, use arms and hands to reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl on occasion, talk and hear. The employee must occasionally lift and move up to 50 pounds. The employee must have close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth vision, and the ability to adjust focus. The employee will be exposed to moving mechanical parts and may work with materials that could irritate eyes, skin or breathing. Appropriate personal protective equipment is required. The employee will work near and/or with high‑speed automated equipment which may pose a risk of injury if safety procedures are not followed. The work environment is often noisy and hearing protection is required.
