Brattleboro Memorial Hospital is seeking a General Maintenance Technician for the Plant Service team on the 2nd shift (3:00pm–11:00pm), Mon-Fri with on-call as needed. The role involves routine upkeep of utilities, equipment, and facilities, plus minor repairs across the hospital environment.
Responsibilities include basic plumbing, electrical, HVAC tasks, maintaining logs, and supporting emergency maintenance.

Performs various duties involving minor repairs of equipment, furniture, walls, etc. and maintenance surveillance rounds throughout the hospital - Records gauge readings, observes general operating conditions etc., of boilers and auxiliary equipment, kitchen equipment, etc. Notes abnormalities in equipment operation, takes corrective action and/or calls for additional assistance as needed.
The Plant Services Department is responsible for the maintenance and operational functions including, but not limited to, safety, and fire prevention/protection, telecommunications, hazardous waste disposal, equipment management, loss prevention management, grounds maintenance, electrical, plumbing, HVAC and power plant systems (boiler) for the 61-bed hospital; 15 acres of grounds, 12 houses and 1 truck and 1 van. Responsible for MSDS, hazardous communications, plus two Medical Office Buildings.
OSHA Category I: Tasks that involve exposure to blood, body fluids, or tissues require use of techniques of Universal Precautions as evidenced with blood borne pathogens standards.

In compliance with Vermont Act 155, Brattleboro Memorial Hospital provides the compensation range for this position in good faith. The listed range represents the pay scale reasonably expected for a successful candidate based on factors such as relevant experience, education, internal equity, and market competitiveness. Final compensation will be determined during the hiring process.
