Palmer Theological Seminary of Eastern University in Saint Davids, PA, is seeking a General Maintenance Mechanic/Painter. Reporting to the Director of Plant Operations, you will perform essential maintenance tasks, emphasizing painting, HVAC, plumbing, and general repairs.
The suitable candidate must be computer literate, able to operate power tools, and possess a valid PA driver's license. They will also carry out essential personnel duties during inclement weather and campus closures, maintaining a standard of care, compassion, and integrity throughout.
Reporting to the Director of Plant Operations, the General Maintenance Mechanic/Painter completes a scheduled preventative maintenance program with an emphasis on painted surfaces for their protective and cosmetic qualities. In addition to painting building and material surfaces, this position troubleshoots, maintains and makes general repairs on mechanical, HVAC, and plumbing equipment. It must be capable of troubleshooting basic HVAC, plumbing, and electrical problems and completing tasks like replacing air filters in HVAC units or lightbulbs in sockets. The candidate must be able to lift and move materials and tools and operate power tools in a safe and proper manner. The position is considered Essential Personnel. The candidate must be computer literate and possess a current valid driver’s license. Personal hand tools are required. A high school diploma or GED is required.

Computer literacy with Niagara/American Auto Matrix – Energy Management Systems preferred but not required.
Current certification such as Universal Technician and/or other HVAC certifications preferred but not required.
Ability to establish good working relationships with other technical and maintenance personnel. The successful candidate must be self‑motivated and capable of working unsupervised.
A valid PA driver’s license is required.
