Join to apply for the General Maintenance Mechanic role at Palmer Theological Seminary of Eastern University.

Reporting to the Director of Plant Operations, the General Maintenance Mechanic performs scheduled preventative maintenance, troubleshoots, maintains, and repairs mechanical, HVAC, and plumbing systems. The role requires minor plumbing repairs, replacing light bulbs and air filters, and troubleshooting basic HVAC, plumbing, and electrical issues. Candidates must be able to lift and move materials and operate power tools safely. The position is considered Essential Personnel and requires computer literacy, a valid driver’s license, and personal hand tools. A high school diploma or GED is required.

Responsibilities include:

1. Addressing work requests related to general maintenance, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, painting, and troubleshooting.
2. Troubleshooting and repairing pumps, fans, HVAC equipment, plumbing fixtures, and related systems.
3. Completing preventive and general maintenance tasks, documenting work in the CMMS.
4. Participating in the “on-call” rotation for after-hours and weekend work.
5. Performing duties as Essential Personnel, including snow removal, ice treatment, and responding to campus closures or emergencies.
6. Other duties as assigned.

The candidate should embody values of caring, justice, integrity, competence, and faith. Preferred qualifications include computer systems experience (Niagara/American Auto Matrix), HVAC certifications, and energy management system knowledge.
