Responsibilities

Under general direction, the General Maintenance Mechanic performs a variety of maintenance duties throughout the hospital complex and off-site buildings. The General Maintenance Mechanic tasks include minor and major equipment repairs, preventive maintenance, assisting other trades, and minor electrical, HVAC, plumbing, painting, and carpentry installations and repairs, and other duties as assigned.

The essential functions of the General Maintenance Mechanic include:

• Works safely by eliminating unnecessary risks by utilizing available equipment, procedures and resources.
• Adheres to all organizational policies and procedures.
• Performs related duties as assigned.
• Performs unrelated duties based upon operational needs in an emergency.

Schedule: 10:30 pm - 7:00 am, Tuesday - Saturday.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

High School Diploma/GED, required.

Vocational diploma with knowledge in the fundamentals of mechanical systems, appliance repair, electricity, HVAC, plumbing and carpentry, highly preferred.

Over 3 to 5 years of applicable work experience in institutional or industrial maintenance operations, highly preferred.
