Hyatt Hotels Corporation at Cheyenne Mountain Resort, Destination by Hyatt in Colorado Springs, seeks a General Maintenance Engineer to uphold safety and guest comfort, performing routine maintenance and repairs across guest rooms, public spaces and back‑of‑house areas. The evening shift requires hands‑on technical skills.

Responsibilities include maintaining air conditioning systems, boilers, electrical, plumbing, pools and more; maintaining records and supporting engineering staff.

Qualifications

• Experience in hotel maintenance is preferred.
• Ability to handle opportunities in the workplace, including problem solving.
• Ability to listen and clarify issues raised by colleagues and guests.
• Ability to work well under stress.
• Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting and standing for long periods.

Responsibilities

• Assist in supervising other engineering staff and scheduling tasks.

Cheyenne Mountain Resort opened in 1985 and sits on 25 acres of land. The 4-Star Full Service property is nestled in the lush greens of Southern Colorado Springs and oversees impressive mountain views, along with exciting activities like golf, swimming, and tennis. These allow for the unique experience that you can only get at this resort.

Hourly Range: $19.50-$21.00 commensurate with experience.

Position Overview: The General Maintenance Engineer is responsible for maintaining the overall functionality, safety, and appearance of the resort by performing routine maintenance, repairs, and preventative upkeep of guest rooms, public spaces, and back‑of‑house areas. This role requires hands‑on technical skill, strong troubleshooting abilities, and the flexibility to support resort operations in a fast‑paced hospitality environment. This person will work the evening shift.

Job Functions & Responsibilities:

• Make repairs to hotel air conditioning system: change filters, clean coils, replace motors.
• Perform preventive maintenance on all equipment (i.e. boilers, chillers, HVAC-Heating Ventilation and Air Conditioning, electrical, etc.).
• Take required readings on equipment.
• Replace and program televisions as needed.
• Replace light switches, receptacles, light bulbs and fixtures.
• Replace and repair pumps.
• Perform plumbing repairs (i.e. clogged drains, copper pipe, change washers, change handles, drain fittings, etc).
• Trace and repair all types of water lines.
• Troubleshoot and repair kitchen equipment.
• Maintain repair and preventive maintenance records.
• Test, clean and repair swimming pools and spas.
• Paint designated areas.
• Repair and finish sheet rock.
• Repair all types of wall coverings.
• Repair and program hotel electronic lock system.
• Assist in supervising other engineering staff members.
• Assist in scheduling preventive maintenance tasks.

Qualifications

Experience in a hotel or a related field preferred

Ability to be effective in handling opportunities in the workplace, including anticipating, preventing, identifying and solving problems as necessary

Ability to be effective at listening to, understanding and clarifying the issues raised by colleagues and guests

Must work well in stressful, high‑pressure situations

Ability to complete heavy work - exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 50 pounds of force frequently and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects

Ability to stand for long periods of time

Must work afternoon/evening shifts for weekends & be flexible to cover vacations & time off requests
