Job summary

Hardy County Board of Education in West Virginia is seeking a Custodial/Maintenance staff member for the 2026-2027 school year. Start date October 20, 2026; work hours from 6:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.; a 261-day contract applies.

Salary will be based on the 2026-2027 salary scale C and commensurate with experience and education. Applicants must complete WVDE trainings and meet all listed qualifications.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent or be enrolled in a GED program.
• Pass appropriate classification test.
• Provide verification of First Aid/CPR certification (official card not required).
• Complete all required county and WVDE trainings.
• Ability to perform job duties with or without reasonable accommodations.
• Recent unsatisfactory evaluations will render ineligible.
• Unsatisfactory interview or reference outcomes render ineligible.
• Past dismissal or non-renewal for cause makes applicant ineligible.

• Additional Minimum Requirements:
  • Applicants who have recent unsatisfactory evaluations will not be eligible for consideration.

  • Applicants who have been dismissed or who have had their contracts non-renewed for cause are not eligible for consideration.
