AMS Staffing, Inc. in Chicago seeks an experienced General Liability / Tort Legal Assistant to join a mid-sized downtown firm. This role provides high-level litigation support across premises liability, transportation and auto/trucking matters, with Insurance Defense experience preferred. Hybrid work arrangement.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of legal assistant experience in a law firm.
• General Liability defense and/or insurance defense experience preferred.
• Strong e-filing experience, preferably with PACER and Odyssey.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and attention-to-detail skills.
• Stable employment history preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide administrative and legal support to 2–3 attorneys handling General Liability matters (premises liability, transportation, auto/trucking accidents, negligence, construction injuries).
• Prepare, revise, proofread, and format legal correspondence, pleadings, and other litigation documents.
• Manage attorney calendars and coordinate meetings, depositions, hearings, deadlines, and other case-related events.
• Maintain electronic and physical client files and assist with case management, discovery, and document organization.
• Communicate professionally with clients, opposing counsel, courts, and vendors.
• Assist with trial preparation and additional litigation support as needed.

AMS Staffing is seeking an experienced General Liability / Tort Legal Assistant to join a respected mid-sized law firm in downtown Chicago. This is an excellent opportunity for a legal professional who enjoys providing high-level litigation support in a collaborative, fast-paced law firm environment. Insurance Defense experience preferred.

Responsibilities:

• Provide administrative and legal support to 2--3 attorneys handling matters involving premises liability, transportation, auto/trucking accidents, negligence, construction injuries, and other General Liability matters.

• Plaintiff or defense litigation experience will be considered, with General Liability Defense and Insurance Defense experience preferred.
• Strong e-filing experience, preferably with PACER and Odyssey.
• Excellent communication, technical, organizational, and attention-to-detail skills with the ability to effectively manage multiple priorities.
• Stable employment history preferred.
